This is much more than a question of authenticity. What we see is the weaponisation of AI to discredit non-white intellect. There is an agenda behind this. Just look at the media circus. The witch hunt against Thélyson Orélien was sparked by a "random" X post.

After Jason Arday, another attack from fascists on Black intellect. This media witch hunt is now part of their playbook.

Do you know what will actually kill us? Fucking climate change! How about you care about that rather than this doomerism marketing ploy that the tech bros deploy to make their shitty products look intelligent. This is tiring. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Ghent University doesn't care about human dignity. Ghent University doesn't care about racism. They hired a known racist in the name of "academic freedom", after he got fired for spewing his racist thoughts. Students protested. They kept him. Cowards. www.ugent.be/en/news-even...

Plenty to reflect about re: the Arday affair, but I'm going to repeat this one thing. The playbook the right used here is effective even though it's not especially sophisticated, as it relies on the audience to do the dirty work. I've been calling it "Trojan horse propaganda", let's go with that. 1/

From this review- “Think of all the diligent, decent black academics who have been lumbered with the embarrassment of having Arday as a figurehead” - no, think of *why* black academics are held collectively responsible in ways that white academics are not

The Times ad about Arday’s “student grievance” is still live. The media’s disproportionate focus on trying to bring down this human is still live. Yet they are now claiming shock. They went after him to tear down every disabled and person of colour in elite circles. They have so much to answer for

No, that is not the alternative The alternative was treating like a normal news story, and not a trial by media - one that was so clearly turbocharged by Arday’s ethnic and social background and the growing resentment in the establishment in the UK of having more black people in high places

What's 'social' about such media? It's just another content slop farm. Tech CEOs seem to have forgotten what made people join social media platforms in the first place. Human connection and "I wanna see what everyone else" is up to. www.wired.com/story/openai...

AI image generation has made stock images kind of classy. When I see images on a blog or linkedin post now and it's a stock image I think:"Wow, you invested some time looking for an image that suits your content, and didn’t just generate a weird looking yellow stained image with misspelled words."

I used to read across UK, French and German newspapers every morning. But I've stopped reading and listening to German media for more than a year now. The reporting was just too scewed, racist, misinformed and upsetting. Great summary of my 'home countries' rotten media landscape.
