Two of my colleagues have created a company just like this to bring specialists of all fields to bars and do interesting talks about their specialty. My first talk about Caribbean pirates in history and pop culture was for them. www.discoursebham.com

An African-American like Nixon probably has family roots in the United States extending back to the 18th century if not earlier, which is at least as long if not longer than a Ulster reject twat like JD.

Our IT department sets up every year a contest in which they create false phishing emails and challenge those who wish to participate in it to find them and tag them. They get my every time. In my defense I’ll say that their phishing emails are better than the ones I actually receive.

The whole Cornell rape case is chilling, and as this editorial from my Alma mater’s Daily Pennsylvanian shows, it’s not a problem exclusively at Cornell. This is a Greek culture problem across the country. www.thedp.com/article/2026...

It’s been a great visit to Portland. It has reminded me of that time that my wife got a job offer from an Oregon university, and didn’t work out because a tenured Latin Americanist professor (the only one in the history department) refused to have another Latin Americanist colleague.

Can we make a comparison to deindustrailisation now? The slashing of wages, the redundancies, the subordination of learning to profit? The intellectual impoverishment of communities and generations, not to mention the literal impoverishment through unemployment and shrinking of local economies?

If you are ABD and need an external reader for your dissertation, do yourself a favor and find that person sooner rather than later in your writing process. I see a lot of graduate students who wait for the last minute to find this person. I think that is a bad idea
