This is critical for the U.S. to find its way back to a functioning democracy. We’ve seen that this administration is completely uninterested in norms, and they're constantly testing what they can get away with legally. The Congress needs to codify expected presidential behavior in binding statutes.

No civilized country executes people in 2026, but there's an argument to be made that if it's going to happen, a firing squad is more humane than the recent abomination in Tennessee. But live-streaming it is indefensible; it's explicitly meant to turn a human death into an entertainment spectacle.

Helsingfors - Finnish and German newspapers suggest that the Nobel Prize should be awarded to Reichsfuehrer Adolf Hitler.

The German leader could claim the coveted prize on various counts, they say. Before the war he was an architect and several of his drawings and paintings are extant.

His book "Mein Kampf" has been a best seller. In fact, it is compulsory for libraries and schools to buy it.

But it is rather the Peace Prize which the Fuehrer's admirers have in mind. They claim that thanks to him Europe still enjoys peace.

That's exactly what I agonized over. I went back and forth between "this riding tends to lean NDP" versus "holy cow look at those national Carney liberal polls". I guessed right, but it could have easily gone the other way, with a vote split electing the Conservative, like it did in 2019.

On policies I'm generally closer to Liberal than NDP, but in the past, NDP has been stronger in this riding than Liberal, and with Conservative so close, I voted strategically NDP. In 2025, I guessed that the Carney Liberal wave was real, so I flipped to Liberal and hoped I was right.

He understands and has said in interviews that the history of software development has involved steadily moving up the ladder to higher abstraction layers. I learned IBM 370 Assembler in school; it would be insane to attempt to implement a modern application at such a low level.

I’ve only started using it recently, and only for a few tricky niche jobs that I didn’t want to spend days untangling. I’ve been extremely impressed by the quality of the code it’s written. It’s another tool for the toolbox; I’m happy to have it as an option.

I pointed Claude to a line of Java code today and told it "On macOS, under these conditions, this line of code deadlocks", it thought about it, informed me that it's a known Mac Java bug, and implemented a solid fix that I then reviewed and tested and found it to be rock solid.
