Took awhile, but she finally paused long enough for a portrait. 🌱🦋 Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
An Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly resting on a long arching blade of iris foliage. The foliage is arching downward to the right and the butterfly is sitting, wings folded closed, in the middle of the frame, casting a shadow on the green iris leaf. There is grass in the lower left corner, wood chip mulch in the upper right.

The unusual design works in person, but perhaps the aesthetics perhaps don't photograph well. The long, arching top, so far toward the viewer, really got me thinking about stretching the bounds with design choices. 🌳#bonsai
