Spent the morning volunteering with Tree Friends United, removing English ivy and other invasives along the C&O Canal towpath. Nothing is better for my mental health than yanking and chopping invasive vines with like-minded people on a beautiful day. #TreeFriends #Nature #FungiFriends

I spent this morning mulching baby trees at an elementary school across town with Trees Lexington, and was rewarded with a tree frog sighting and a beautiful ube muffin! Closer to home, it appears the cup plant is now a green June beetle hotel. #Frogs #Invertebrates

I spotted a turtle hanging out in the creek and was able to watch him for a while before I moved and spooked him. I think it was a Ouachita map turtle based on the spots behind its eyes and a few minutes of local turtle research on the internet. #Turtles #Reptiles #WaterWednesday
