The last year I taught high school, I briefly had a trans student who randomly disappeared. They’d put her deadname as her nickname on our attendance page & from day one she’d been outed. She was immediately subjected to bullying. This was during Biden’s presidency too—it’s only getting worse :(

There’s been a tremendous shift in potter discourse, although I’ll always be dissatisfied. First, people feigned difficulty abstaining—now, people act as though it’s actual work to boycott her, when it’s quite easy; not even in the sense of adulthood either, none of my students care and they’re 12.
