Somehow a 25lb beagle can take up the entire bed. This was my view at 3:30AM. I guess she was cold but wanted her feet out? Oh, Blair. I wish I was you.

Two small paws and part of a peanut-butter-freckle arm poke out from under a nice set of sheets and a quilt. This is a beagle and she does not care how nice your bedding is. She wants to make herself a beagle-burrito with it. Breathing is not important to her. Only stinking up your clean bed.

I think you just nailed down for me why I have problems with belief in a benevolent and omnipotent god. I kind of like the Norse idea that gods are screwing with us because they like it when we entertain them and they want to see what we will do.

I like how this animal thinks he’s a wild jungle cat sleeping in a tree. In reality he’s a rotten gremlin who likes to scratch my furniture and instead of being deterred by the sticky tape, he licks it, apparently (?) to fuel his two brain cells.

Thanks friend! I don’t know much about that process bc I am on the food side. But I can almost guarantee that if they weren’t direct reviewers, they were probably let go. Please be patient with us as we figure out how to absorb all of these functions. We are scrambling and doing the best we can.

I’ve proudly worked at FDA for 16 years and let me tell you yesterday felt like a massacre. We lost all our comms, budget, project management, IT, and HR people. We also lost a lot of policy folks. It’s like they left the car but didn’t leave any gas for it.

Just absolutely love the vibe with Teams calls now that people are crammed cheek by jowel in the office. Can’t hear because of so much background noise from other people trying to work. Poor quality because office internet can’t keep up. Much efficient. So office. Very collaborate. 😑

I agree that most of the farmers here probably vote straight ticket R and that they are complaining about something that in theory doesn’t affect them if they themselves don’t sign a solar contract. However, MD is small and they know they have to stick together to keep their margins.

That’s the farmers’ perception of it and why they are opposed. I think the facts are somewhere in the middle where they usually are. The ag industry here doesn’t feed people directly. It feeds chickens that are grown here and the animal feed commodities market (oilseed mostly).

Also keep in mind that there’s a long tradition (real and perceived) of the western shore taking resources from the eastern shore without full compensation. Gov Schaefer famously called the ES a “s***house” in 1991

We are having the same fight in Maryland, especially on the Eastern Shore where I live. Much of the shore is rural farmland that feeds the poultry and oilseed industry, mostly w/in 100 miles of here. The bill in MD wants to take solar zoning decisions away from the counties

My boyfriend works at a rendering plant. A long time ago I inspected the plant and while I was there I got accidentally pelted with chicken guts. In August. It was very stinky and I think he thought I was going to shut the place down. We met again years later and now we are dating. Romantic 🥰 😂
