Important to note that visiting these files is expensive, so scholars need availability *and* digitization. NSF was crucial for this, from HAB database to @trjumn.bsky.social and co's SCOTUSnotes project to my and @jonathanmking.bsky.social's work on JPS papers. Really sad it's no longer an option.

I just need this out in the world before one more person slanders my people: We, the people who proudly call Michigan home, cannot explain Haley Stevens’s accent. It is not the accent of *any* of our people. Maybe it’s changed since she moved to DC (mine has!), but it is not a Michigan accent.

I did some quick analysis and oral arguments under the new round robin format were on average twenty minutes longer than the prior format.
Figure showing that after the Supreme Court began using a round robin format to oral argument, the duration jumped on average 20 minutes.
