Creature Concept: Northern Dragon

A white dragon sits up on a snowy tundra plain. Black rocks litter the ground, and grey clouds cover the skies, which are grey with blizzard clouds. Beneath the dragon's front claw is a human skull.

The dragon has folded pterodactyl-like wings with hairy claws for fingers. Its back legs are also fluffy, and look much like the talons of a snowy owl. 3 horns grow from the dragon's head; 2 short ones from the back, and 1 longer, forked one from the center. The tail ends in a triangular barb made from the same material as the horns, and sensory bristles stick out from the length of the tail like whiskers. Similar whiskers, only shorter, are found on the cheeks and the tips of the ears.

Creature Concept: Aspidus (cyber cobra)

Digital artwork of a mechanical cobra monster. Its fanged mouth is open, and a flame shoots from it. Its eyes likewise streak flames, and two large tubes on its bottom jaw shoot out jets of smoke behind its head.

Its hood, made of reflective metal plates, is open wide to reveal a pair of laser weapons with circles of blue lightning energy spinning around them. The edges of the hood are lined with spiky, rib-like bone structures on hinges.

The metal body is coiled over itself on a rough black floor, and the tip of its tail is made up of large exposed vertebrae held together with sets of cables that run through holes drilled into the bones. Held high above the ground at the end of this chain of bones is an electrified string of metal balls. Bolts of blue lightning similar to those in the hood weapons jump from one ball to another.

Ohsone emerges from a pipe tunnel above Puppy's head. Pumpy is studying a big map. They are in a dungeon made of big stone blocks. Copper pipes run along the walls and into various passages. There are pressure gauges on many of the pipes.

Titled "Exploration in Blue," this piece is set in a dungeon with walls, floor, and ceiling made out of square stone blocks of different sizes. Cyberpumpkin stands 2/3 of the hallway's height. He holds a torch up that creates a circle of light.

Cyberpumpkin's young companion, Rad, stands in front of him, looking at the carvings on the wall. Rad wears overalls, boots, and a magic helmet shaped like a radish.

On the wall are two pillars with carvings like hieroglyphics. Between the pillars is a smooth area (a door?) with a big winged scarab filling the upper half, and more hieroglyphics in the lower half.

This piece was executed in blue ballpoint pen on the front of a white folder.
This piece is dated 05-06-2001.

This is an outdoor picture with Pumpy standing in front of a patch of daisies and sprinkling them with a watering can. There is a white painted fence behind Pumpy. so i kinda fell in love with this little freak i made for my YSOISY series I'm think maybe it's a thoughtform creature that takes on different shapes and patterns by drawing from stories in the collective consciousness + a bit of metacommentary on the issues with our copyright system

A creature stands in front of a dark background of translucent green blobs. It has a squashed Mickey Mouse head with a single giant magenta eye in the forehead and a Happy Meal smile. Two more faces occupy the ears; one with four elongated eyes and big tan nose plus two dangling puppet arms and the other with smiling pink lips, tow big blue eyes, and a purple bow. The things body is long and black, with five green arms in a rubber-hose cartoon style and a repeating organic green and silver veiny pattern down the center. Two of the arms are smaller than the others and come from the same origin point. Little boxes of green highlighted text say: "Rescue. Endangerment and insanity, Stand by for clearance. Clearance is granted, little abomination."

A centipede-esque chimera creature; an amalgamation of bits and pieces from different characters, movie posters, and screenshots. It has a mickey mouse head with only one large cartoon eye in the center. Each of its ears has its own face: one is more feminine, with blue eyes, lipstick, and a bow, while the other is more monstrous with four eyes, a wide animal snout, and two tiny arms dangling from it. It's body has a black back and a paler pink-and-blue belly. Both are full of different shades and textures from different images mashed together. It has six pairs of arms going down the whole length of it.

Thousands of immigrants did the hard, dirty work of clearing rubble and toxic dust and debris from Ground Zero. A different design on the same body and pose. This version has long black hair tied up in a bun surrounded by a crown of braids. She wears a ragged black shawl with red and orange ends. Her jumpsuit is sleeveless and brown at the top while slowly fading into green on the legs. A pattern of thorny vines trace up the sides of it. Her arms are covered with a brown mesh that has the speckled patterns of a birds feathers travelling up from the wrist and fading away. She has tall black boots with leather straps and a red cloth belt supporting two pockets and some decorative black mesh.

Another variation. She has long black, roughly cut hair, tied up in a messy, spikey bun. Three silver star shaped hair clips decorate her bangs. Her jumpsuit is black with crooked green stripes running down it, like trees in a dark forest. A dark red and green decorative belt drapes down her legs. Her sleeves are made of black mesh decorated with black, silver, and red beads. Bat wing shaped cape attaches to black gloves on her hands. Her shoes are simple leather ones, but with straps twisting up her legs to her knees. She has thorn bush necklace.

The final version, combining elements of the others. Long black hair is tied up in messy braids and a bun. Purple star shaped hair clips are pinned to her braids. A bright red thorn-bush necklace stands out against the black and dark green striped jumpsuit. Sleeves made of brown-vine patterned mesh lead down to black gloves that support drapping fabric reminicent of bat wings. A brown belt supports a ragged skirt in various shades of red and orange. The top layer is solid and bright, while the bottom layer is a dark red mesh that glitters slightly. Chains of beads are also looped around belt, bright red and holding tiny animal skulls. Her boots are the leather shoe version, straps still reaching up toward her knees.

I have eaten shit a hundred times on my bicycle. My helmet has saved me many times. Wear the helmet. It's not about appearance or fashion it's about safety. Do drivers need to be better? Absolutely and if a car hits you you'll be grateful you at least had a helmet on.

Almost certainly the best photo I have ever taken through a hole in an old tree trunk of a stranger's dog leaping joyfully along the foreshore of an estuary.

I took this photo on the Teign Estuary in Devon in spring 2022. I thought I was just taking a photo of an attractive hole in an old tree. It was only when I got home and looked through my camera roll that I saw the leaping dog, who I'd caught perfectly framed, mid-leap, totally by chance. I remembered the dog immediately, because of what an annoying twat it had been.
