Hello, I'm jesse! thanks for the artshare, here are some of my creatures :)

A centipede-esque chimera creature; an amalgamation of bits and pieces from different characters, movie posters, and screenshots. It has a mickey mouse head with only one large cartoon eye in the center. Each of its ears has its own face: one is more feminine, with blue eyes, lipstick, and a bow, while the other is more monstrous with four eyes, a wide animal snout, and two tiny arms dangling from it. It's body has a black back and a paler pink-and-blue belly. Both are full of different shades and textures from different images mashed together. It has six pairs of arms going down the whole length of it.

hi hi! i'm jesse, im a multimedia artist from ohio! i dabble in all sorts of mediums but i especially love sculpture and fiber arts :)

Two sides of the pyramid (front and back) are decorated with six descending ovals, getting smaller the closer to the base they get. The other sides have two upright circles in front of them. Two tall, dramatic swoops of paper set in the middle ground of the front and back of the sculpture. The outer corners of the base each have a small but still tall and thin pyramid on it. Between these corner pillars are different wiggly lines of paper; the front and back have rounded waves while the sides have sharp zig-zags, starting taller and getting shorter as they continue across.

The red snake had a blue eye, and the blue snake as a red eye. Scraps of fabric in red, blue, and purple are stitched on to their bodies with scale-shaped stitches. The snakes' outline is defined by faint screen printing and bold black whip stitches. Their fangs are white fill thread, and the scalpel is painted with a black handle and white blade. The design is set on a square of woven grey fabrics with a sparkly black and purple ribbon for a border.

so i kinda fell in love with this little freak i made for my YSOISY series I'm think maybe it's a thoughtform creature that takes on different shapes and patterns by drawing from stories in the collective consciousness + a bit of metacommentary on the issues with our copyright system

A different design on the same body and pose. This version has long black hair tied up in a bun surrounded by a crown of braids. She wears a ragged black shawl with red and orange ends. Her sleeves are made of black mesh decorated with black, silver, and red beads. Bat wing shaped cape attaches to black gloves on her hands. Her shoes are simple leather ones, but with straps twisting up her legs to her knees. She has thorn bush necklace.

The final version, combining elements of the others. Long black hair is tied up in messy braids and a bun. Purple star shaped hair clips are pinned to her braids. A bright red thorn-bush necklace stands out against the black and dark green striped jumpsuit. Sleeves made of brown-vine patterned mesh lead down to black gloves that support drapping fabric reminicent of bat wings. A brown belt supports a ragged skirt in various shades of red and orange. The top layer is solid and bright, while the bottom layer is a dark red mesh that glitters slightly. Chains of beads are also looped around belt, bright red and holding tiny animal skulls. Her boots are the leather shoe version, straps still reaching up toward her knees.

Congrats on 19k!! I'm jesse, I'm a multimedia artist but recently Ive been doing a lot of digital collage.

sometimes you feel like you almost finish a design and then look at it a bit and realize you hate and decide to start from scratch. and it's an important part of the process cause holy shit any one of these designs is so much better than what I had before. #characterdesign #costuming

thanks for the art share! I'm a multimedia artist, but recently i've doing a lot of character design!

A sheet showing my process for character design. Step 1 features three sketches of a pomerianian character inspired by a scene aesthetic with the same body plan but different colors, patterns, and accessories. It says: "Initial Description: A very fluffy Pomeranian with an early 2000s scene aesthetic". Arrows lead you to step 2 which says: Feedback:
-the first or third are my favorite color schemes,
-like thr big black eyes but only on the bluish fur, on the third one its too dark to see well.
-And I loooove the bat earrings on the second one
-should definitely give the final design a cutie mark
-could always add some sort of white highlight/shimmer to the eyes to make them pop against the dark fur background." More arrows lead to step three" This is followed by a new version, incorporating different elements of the original three designs based on that feedback. This leads to stage 3, which comes with the feedback: "Cute!! I think putting a little shine on the nose would be cool too." Followed by a fully fleshed out character design turnaround sheet, with views of the pom from all angles and a color scheme block.

I also got to go after this freak named Lathell by Elieeeee. They also had no colors, but i mostly kept them black and white. It seemed fitting for their vibes.

Her skin is a greenish-blue with a sparse, shiny scale texture Her long hair is pale pink and pearlescent. She has two large fins where her ears would be, both dark green with blue depressions and yellowish- highlights. She has a large, spiked tail curled behind her, decorated with a large purple bow and the same sort of green fins as her head. One fin has a bandage on it. She wears a dark blue, silky strapless dress with white mesh sleeves.

A white and greyish-brown spotted greyhound, that is also a steampunk-style cyborg. It is bent into a posture that makes it look ready to take off sprinting. It's eye is a metal lens, controlled by gears and chains. It has an elaborately decorated leather collar with a red cape attached. The cape has a design of a bunch of circles etched in to it and a lace trim. The front leg is a prosthetic, made of bronze gears, pistons, and engraved gold beams and slabs. It's ribs are supported by more gold beams. It's back leg has a giant gear at the top, more supportive beams beneath it, with a prosthetic gold foot that matches the front paw. Strapped to it's back is a tank of some-sort that feeds into its flame-thrower tail constructed of leather tubing, black cords, and an ornate gold tip.

It also sparkles, which you can't really see in the photos unfortunately. I'm honestly kinda sad I probably wont be able to make more of this exact color cause its just made of a random assortment of pens i happened to have. But i am very excited that this worked! can't wait to try with more things

I tried running it through a coffee filter to see if that would make it thicker, but it didn't really have an effect. So i just did a little doodle with a few layers of the paint to show it off better. I really like the color :)

But even that was taking too long for me, so I just took a toothpick and shoved them into the tubes to force all the remaining ink out. If you plan to do something similar, I would suggest skipping to this step. It was by far most effective, and after another round of soaking and stabbing i got this

a tub of opaque pink ink next the decimated corpses of the pens it came from and a couple stained toothpicks.

So i decided to disassemble them to get at the ink tubes directly. That worked a lot better, and wasn't even that hard. I was prepared to be prying them apart with pliers and shit but, with these ones at least, you can just unscrew them.

Two small jars, one with some of the ink tubes soaking in, both filled with pale pink liquid. It is much more opaque than it was before.

I did an experiment around making #ecofriendly, #DIY art supplies and ended up turning some old dried up gel pens into a really pretty watercolor 🧵 I started with just sticking them tip-down in a jar of water to see if that would dissolve the old ink. Worked a bit but not really...

A bunch of warm-colored gel pens stuck in a small jar with a thin layer of water at the bottom.

A close up on the jar a few days later. there is now a slight, milky pink tinge to the water.

And my second for today: Tim for Tr0ll_G00BER I've drawing a lot of cutesy critters this round so i thought a spooky guy would be a nice change of pace.
