For #DrawEdTeach weekend, I went through my sketchbooks from autumn 2023, when pirates took over my brain and I found the fandom. At that point, I hadn't drawn anything since I was in my early teens. I found lots of experiments and mistakes and abandoned drawings and I love them all! #ofmdfanart

His face has some shading and detail, but his hair is just outlined. I think this is from the scene in which he's laying on the dock, waiting for Stede. The eighth image is just a sketch of Ed with a full beard, looking kind of suspicious and/or grumpy. The final sketch is an unfinished portrait of Ed with a full beard, turned toward the viewer's right. His face is scrunched and laughing. Only his eyes, nose, mustache, and mouth have shading and detail; the rest of the portrait is just sketchy line work.
