Today is Canada's Day of Truth and Reconciliation. It is not a day to celebrate. It is a day to listen. A day to recognize the costs of colonialism and capitalism.

I once said this to @amywestervelt.bsky.social and I stand by the statement. “I don't think you can call anything where you're getting more oil out of the ground to burn a climate solution.” drilled.media/news/ccs
"It doesn't make sense to use CCS to prolong our use of fossil fuels, especially to produce electricity," David Ho, professor at University of Hawaii and senior researcher at Columbia Uni-versity, said. 'The argument in favor of enhanced oil recovery is often that if they weren't using this capt red CO2 they'd be using some other CO2. But I don't think you can call anything where you're getting more oil out of the ground to burn a climate solution."

🇬🇧💰🔌🚗 When charged during cheaper off-peak hours, EVs are nine times cheaper to 'fuel' compared to a gas car. But even during peak hours, when electricity is most expensive, they are still three times cheaper. See the full analysis and charts from @carbonbrief.org 📊👇

The latest surge in fossil-fuel prices means it is now up to nine times cheaper in the UK to drive an electric vehicle (EV) than a petrol or diesel car, shows Carbon Brief analysis.

Using an AI chatbot instead of a calculator app uses 2.5 MILLION TO 62 MILLION TIMES more energy!! And that energy often isn't clean. That means way higher GHG emissions, which means accelerating climate change. AI is bad for your brain and bad for the planet. Don't use it!

People are always surprised to learn that packaging, processing, and transportation are almost always small contributors (<10%) of food-related GHG emissions. The TYPE of food we eat -- meat versus plants -- is a MUCH bigger factor.
Bar chart of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the lifecycle production of different foods. Beef and lamb are the highest emitting. Farm-level emissions and land use change emissions are the greatest contributors to lifecycle food emissions.
