I agree, but it’s clear that we can’t keep relying on the same tiny handful of dauntless prosecutors, indefatigable public defenders and intrepid reporters to ride to the rescue whenever the system fails. We need to fix not only the system but the broader culture that allowed it to happen at all.

PSA: The Trump administration changed the form used to register and request absentee ballots, removing the checkbox for US citizens who have never lived in the US(even though some are eligible to vote under state law). The change could block eligible voters and was made without proper public notice.

Beverages are on the chopping block. I’m down to one tea and half a coffee per day—and no fizzy treats whatsoever. I figure if I scrimp enough over the next few months I may be able to give my kids ten cents, an orange and a pair of socks for Christmas like my great-grandparents did in the 1930’s. 🙄
