Personal milestone: I got my first royalty check from the publisher today, which means my book has officially sold enough copies to cover the advance they gave me. That doesn't sound like much but it's a huge deal personally. Anyway I'm going to be crying for the rest of the day.

It's never been more important for you to actually CONTRIBUTE to the places you consider your "home". Is it a convention? Volunteer. Is it your local LGBT center? fundraise. Is it your local library? Ask how you can help them keep funding. NOTHING you love just exists, it needs effort to stay alive!

The hunt for a game with satisfying solo play where I could play The Rocketeer continues to elude me. I have now read a plethora of Pulp RPGs, and none of them scratch the itch for me. They all fall short, feel lackluster, mechanically clunky and also afraid of letting me be The Rocketeer.

I'm very familiar with SotC, one of the games that got me into TTRPGs--but I've tried FATE as a Solo RPG before, and it always falls short. the Fate Point economy is, in my experience, such a social mechanic that it doesn't have the same oomph when done solo, even with something like Mythic.

No shade at all to OP (who is on my dream guest list and I ask you not @, be chill be chill) but I see sentiments like this and it discourages me, because like, why SHOULD I reach out to guests about the show? We're not large by any stretch, and I'm no one of note, and the show is weird.

There are some podcasts that I really love to be on, and ones that I haven’t been on that I would love to do. But if it’s hosted by someone I don’t know, and it’s not about something I’m interested in, and there’s like 20 listeners, I’m not going to do it.

The entrance off of Market Street, through the train station entrance next to the Hard Rock moves generally much quicker, it's my preferred way to get in Food wise, walk a block or two further out and you've got a lot more options in Chinatown and Old City without nearly as much wait/crowds

THE ROCKETEER AT WAR (2015) still ends up at the bottom of my list but they changed artists halfway through and the difference was SEISMIC Also hey! An actual supervillain! Hes kind of just The Red Skull but the whole miniseries was kinda just Captain America Redux so it worked fine enough

THE ROCKETEER AT WAR (2015) might be the first DNF of my Rocketeer journey. The writing and the art are both considerable steps down from the previous books (especially coming off of The Rocketeer / The Spirit: Pulp Friction, which has been my favorite so far). I will likely finish it, but oof.
