a livestreamed execution is just a lynching

I’ve been buying up Blu-Rays the last few months. It also makes picking what to watch way less intimidating than the endless scroll of the Netflix Home Screen.

Outdoor staircase or indoor elevator, actually. Forgot about the stairs/. But yeah crossing the street to get there kinda sucks.

If I’ve got luggage especially, I’ll take the Jackson Street entrance and elevator down to the platform level

Idk who needs to hear this, but there really isn't a humane way to execute somebody. Sanitized yes, but humane...nope.

Apple Watch always listening now? Siri Recap? Rumors of cameras built into new AirPods? It’s only a matter of time before these things are banned from offices, gyms, clubs, restaurants, etc. and the hassle of determining what’s allowed where won’t be worth it.

With the public sentiment on things like Flock, and with the new AI features being rolled out, I think wearable tech is on borrowed time now.

I don’t think a single driver should be able to crash into another vehicle, take out power for thousands of people and the only two grocery stores in reasonable walking distance of my house *and* close my local Light Rail station for hours without significant legal consequences

3 years delay and a billion extra in budget, flying under the radar. Throw out the entire board, start over.

This is…fine, I guess. Doesn’t seem like the best use of limited local political capital tho. Wilson’s got some wins (Bike weekends, the L8). But those are relatively targeted, and I fear that citywide she’ll come up short when voters look for tangible ways life has improved next election.

it's important that we not only end these companies, but that they are widely understood to be evil, and that choosing to be associated with them in any way should be a mark of great shame

Delaying Smith Cove-Market St was always a gamble, knowing that if any subarea is going to approve an additional funding measure to finish the build, it’s Seattle. Pierce/Everett would never. ST3.5 is coming. I still think it was a bad gamble, for the record, even if it succeeds.

Acquiring tickets to the Lucas Museum has been, by far, the most frustrating ticket purchase of my lifetime. And I got face value tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour from the Ticketmaster Trenches.

I would love it if some snarky SDOT employee fulfilled this new requirement with a simple URL to Metro’s dashboards printed on SDOT letterhead.

Massive flub for the Wright Family to shut down the PacSci iMax right before The Odyssey hits theaters; Taxes need to be higher for these folks.

For All Mankind started pretty good, it’s gone downhill. Its spin-off, Star City, just wrapped a pretty exciting first season. Shrinking is just a delightful show, similar energy to Ted Lasso. Pluribus is intriguing in a sorta morbid way? I’ve heard good things about Widow’s Bay, haven’t started.

Agreed on your point. But want to confirm: am I understanding correctly that if this and Seattle’s new 0.15% transit sales tax go into effect, the city’s sales tax rate will be 10.8%?

From the board measure last week, LQA-Ballard has no official projected date, but they are required to provide a provisional one (within a year, I think?) AFAIK, delivery target for West Seattle is unchanged at 2032

In the space of two months - March 28 to May 28 - Sound Transit went from the peak of its success (opening the Crosslake Connection) to a stunning act of self destruction (gutting the ST3 plan). I’ve never seen anything like it.

It is certainly disingenuous, though I will say that I yearn for the 15X to return. Cutting out the Queen Anne detour for those 4-5 runs every weekday at commute time were big time-savers.

It covers up to $3 of the water taxi fare! And I think the adult fare for the water taxi is $5.25
Fares covered with the regional day pass:
Adult $3.00
RRFP $1.00
ORCA LIFT $1.00
If your regional day pass does not cover your entire transit fare, you will need to pay the difference with your ORCA card’s E-purse funds. On a bus, fare differences cannot be paid with cash. Keep money loaded onto your E-purse at all times to avoid a negative balance and possible blocked card.

Today was the first major Link expansion opening in the last few years that I’ve missed (today was moving day, plus getting married in a few weeks means I just couldn’t make it work). But I cannot wait to celebrate in my own time and ride this damn train!
