A number of years ago, when Bongo Comics was still in operation, I desperately wanted to publish something in the Futurama Comics title. I pitched a number of ideas but nothing ever came of it. But here's a short story I wrote (art by Pietro) to try to prove my interest/desperation!

Today is the birthday of cartoonist Ernie Bushmiller (Aug. 23, 1905-Aug. 15, 1982). Best known for taking over the comic strip Fritzi Ritz and creating Nancy as her niece in 1933.

Today is the birthday of cartoonist Jackie Ormes (Aug. 1, 1911-Dec. 26, 1985), the first Black woman to create a newspaper comic strip that was read nationally in the US. She created Torchy Brown in Dixie to Harlem, Torchy in Heartbeats & Patty-Jo ‘n’ Ginger. Patty Jo became a toy doll.

#SDCC comic con: our daughter left her 3D printed black dragon in the restroom near E/Starbucks. She printed it herself and is devastated. We checked the restroom and lost and found which means someone picked it up. If you bring it to 5552 I will give you a signed comic as reward
