I like what Fable 5.1 has to say about this.

Response from Claude Fable 5.1 after I asked about a cancellation note, visible in a screenshot from the Claude App:

I'm cancelling because Anthropic is now a listed patron of DHH's Omacom Foundation, weeks after he publicly attacked Claude for refusing to translate an essay in which he calls London's "demographic replacement" a nightmare and describes a Tommy Robinson "remigration" march as heartwarming. That foundation's first major grant replaced Hyprland's community funding with an exclusive sponsorship of a developer freedesktop.org banned for enabling harassment of trans contributors, which sets the precedent that the surest route to money in FOSS is to drop your code of conduct and call it "apolitical". Putting your name and $100,000 a year behind that tells marginalised people in open source exactly where you stand, and I'd rather not pay for it.

Speaking of going upstream: what about man page + shell completion generation for facet-args, is that something you’d be interested in? If I port something from serde to facet, I’d like to also replace clap, but I really like man pages and shell completions.

@fasterthanli.me I’ve spent yesterday experimenting with facet and it’s amazing. I’ve built man page generation similar to what clap has for CLIs, but instead for config files loaded with facet. No proc macros on my end necessary. It is too specialized to go upstream, but it’ll go on crates.io soon.

I have two @frame.work Laptops. I used to exclusively recommend them. With the current Omarchy/Hyprland/DHH situation, I can no longer do so. Thanks @frame.work, for ruining this for me. I hope you'll do better in the future, and earn back the goodwill that you lost with this.

I think it’s more nuanced than that. For a social networking site that has no private data, and no expectation of privacy, I think it’s valuable to be able to experiment with stuff. The “just do whatever” concern would be the same for someone inexperienced doing a school project, which I’d support

Well, “user data”.. Everything there is public, not sure how it’s relevant? People will use that public data maliciously, someone vibe coding an app view sounds quite harmless in that regard. If this was sensitive data that wasn’t public, I’d see the problem, but like this, why care?

The wired SSH connection over USB still works on my rm2, even after updating to 3.22.0.64, which the device claims to be the latest firmware. Hope your problem is resolved soon, has their support been of any help?

Spent most of today doing chores and cleaning my kitchen. Gotta say, having a cleaned up living space really does a lot for mental wellbeing. Had a nice little Espresso Tonic while taking a break, and I think the pic of it on the cleaned up kitchen table turned out quite nice :)

The glass containing the drink is a longdrink glass from Nachtmann out of the “Noblesse” series. The glass is filled with ice cubes, wild berry tonic and a shot of espresso. The ice cubes protrude from the drink. The espresso hasn’t fully mixed either the tonic yet, giving a nice gradient from just tonic at the bottom to mostly espresso at the top.
