codex is weird. it might be a *bit* better a the "make X work" kind of tasks and one-shots stuff more often, but the code it generates is fucking awful and i find myself spending a lot more time cleaning up after it than after claude and it also seems worse at the "debug X" kind of tasks

sonnet 4.6 is so dry it's genuinely uncomfortable to talk to. it was like that with opus4.6 at first, but they tweaked it a bit i think? it almost feels like the more they train the model to be practically useful – the worse it becomes at just casually talking sonnet4.5 still goat tho <3

opus4.6 wasted 20 minutes and millions of tokens and failed to fix the bug 5.3 codex was largely the same opus4.5 fixed it in 3 minutes and ~200k tokens total sonnet4.5 was on the right track within minutes too, but didn't quite fix it certified bruh moment

both opus4.6 and gpt5.3 are somehow really slow. like yeah the inference itself is def much faster, but they both just keep stuffing more and more shit into their context even when it's really not necessary. and only start actually writing code when they get to like 100k tokens worth of context
