I've been thinking about IHT a lot lately. Why, for instance, is it set at a fixed rate of 40% for all estates which exceed the nil rate band? Why not make it 50% for estates of £10m or more, 60% for £100m, 70% for £500m etc.? Seriously, 30% of £500 million is still a ridiculous amount of money.
