The agreement was signed out of the public view a month ago by Pentagon official Robert Kadlec and NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya, echoing my reporting. It establishes a 10-year framework that officially runs through September 30, 2036.

Leaders in academic circles seem to want to downplay just how bad things are at NIH and for science in the US. Not sure if this is naivety... Bhattacharya is quite a good propagandist and sounds reassuring. But certainly folks in academia are paying close enough attention to see through his lies?
