I am currently playing through Control Resonant in New Game+ and still loving it. I have small and big gripes, but the strength of all the parts together overwhlem a lot of my criticisms. I think the final fight and ending are very weak and Courtney Hope is royaly under used, but so much works.

A note on that Kotaku piece about the city exploration being a slog in Control Resonant. You can look at that headline, go "well it didn't feel like that for me", close the page you saw it on, and move on with your day. You are not required by law to post about it and mock the writer. Be an adult.

Without spoiling anything specific, its wild how few of the mysteries of Control are even acknowledged in this game. It also really does feel like time froze between the two games. Did seriously nothing interesting happen in the Oldest House for SEVEN YEARS!

I wish the songs in Control Resonant (except for one) were chapter breaks instead of just randomly played (except for that one) at the end of certain missions. One of them, that was supposed to be a big moment was ruined by some real bad audio glitching which I'm sure will be fixed, but even then.

I've played the oppening hours of Control Resonant. It does not leave a flawless first impression. Does a bad job of building into its oppening, something the first game did a great job at. Doesn't reintroduce the world very well either. Combat is rough, even for Remedy. You have a single combo.

I really like a lot about Fortunes Weave, but the big thing I miss about 3H is having a larger stable of units that are connected. In FW, you have maybe three or four units other than the runs lord who have story agency. Everyone else doesn't show up in cutscenes and has limited supports.

I’m in agreement with a lot of the criticism of how the ocarina remake looks. Link looks bad, the minor NPCs look way better. I love the look of castle down, I think the starting village has lost all identity. For every perfectly fine choice, there’s a pretty mediocre or bad one.

I'm not as negative as a lot of folks I follow, but while a friend I watched the direct with loved the look of OoT remake, I was conflicted. The town looks really good, the rest is either fine or really is just "they hired that man". As I say, conflicted. I don't love how it looks.
