This scissor-tailed flycatcher saw a snack on the ground this morning #LookingDown #BirdOfTheDay #Birds #Photography #ECK

A slender bird is perched atop a tree with autumn leaves. It is on the lookout for flying insects. There might be a snack directly below as its beak is almost touching its breast. It has a tail that is about twice as long as its body, and flows like ribbons in flight. The head and neck area is a light blue-gray hue while its belly is copper colored. In flight the wings and tail appear to be black but perched they are dappled with white and brown.

This image shows a thick maple trunk rising from a hill covered with fallen leaves and in front of numerous other trees in the background. In front of the maple, in the lower third of the image, sits an incredibly cute goldendoodle puppy. He's almost doubled in weight since we got him, but without losing his curly reddish-brown fur and nutso puppy energy. What a cutie! Not that I'm biased or anything.
