it isn't not, but it's far from the most egregious case

I shouldn't be surprised that Maoists have no idea how Waffle Houses work, since Maoists don't work lol

@dhookstead

Did we cancel D-Day because of a little rough weather? No. Play the damn game.

Readers added context

D-Day was delayed by a day because of the weather

With respect to what I ingest at the very least. Sidenote: I once ate oatmeal laced with a radioactive tracer for a test at a hospital and that might be the worst thing I have ever eaten

There's some thought that extremely low levels of radiation have health benefits, but nope not doing this

I'm not suggesting it be anchored there, exactly. It's just that whatever the term means, it has to apply to the Nazis.

Then there's the people who parse out who is a "semite", which is a nonsensical category for anything other than languages. The term 'antisemitism' is an idiom. Its origins in 19th century racist pseudoscience are a reason for using the term more specifically, as I see it.

jasserole @jasserole.blacksky.app · 23h
Part of the problem in these discussions is the usage of terms. Does antisemitism refer to hatred or Jews generically, or to a specific form or hatred typified by (but not exclusive to) Nazi Germany? If the former, what term should be used for the latter? Is this even a distinction?

Antisemitism was very much a racial system of subordination and its most virulently ideological forms emerged out of that, or alongside it. To ignore this is to not really understand the past 150 years. The Jew is a person who must live in the Pale of Settlement.

Most of the beltway shares the same ideology as university administrators/trustees: "my job is to justify the whims and abuses of the rich and powerful." That's why the five members of Cornell's "External Advisory Board" for their report included David Brooks and an AEI scumbag.

The only time the transit conversation during an election is about specifics is drawing lines on a map. I, for one, am glad that's not taking up all the oxygen.

Surprised more people aren’t alarmed about the financial condition of Oracle. Revenue flat for 15 years adjusted for inflation, only real growth engine is unprofitable AI data centers, future entirely tied to OpenAI and the most ambitious infra projects in history. It’s dying!

It’s a very minor point amongst the far greater injustices of the situation, but the Cornell case has also just reminded me how much all of society seems to have just accepted the fact that big tech won’t allow people to use the word “rape”. (Or at least people *believe* so — nobody knows!)

Sure, but the view is that those differences don't matter at the level of a whole network. It might take more artificial neurons but that's fine

It's sustainable in that it provides a ton more revenue for oil companies so we wouldn't have to pay them as much to do it. Of course, we'll still pay them tons of money for it as though they're doing something environmentally beneficial, but it's the thought that counts

obviously a fucked up situation from pretty much every conceivable angle, but the “what are you gonna do, stab me” principle remains undefeated
He also, per the affidavit, said: "Let's see if the FBI is going to to show up at my door because I'll shoot them motherfuckers too." Other transcribed statements include "I'm going to be a murderer one day" and "One day I'm going to turn into that person just like the people you see on the fucking videos on YouTube where they fucking run up to the police officer and they have no reason at all and then they make the police kill them. I'm gonna be that guy."
