Remarkable: As of now, Latino early vote is outpacing where it was at same time in 2024 in both percentages of vote share and in RAW VOTE TOTALS. That's big. Presidential turnout is usually higher than midterms. I obtained new analysis from Dem firm TargetSmart: newrepublic.com/article/2164...

President Trump threatens to send 1,000 election monitors to polling places in November. Brennan Center's Sean Morales-Doyle says threats like these are "not about physically or legally interfering in the process, it's about generating fear, worry, concern," so voters don't go to the polls.

1. I have been thinking about why Donald Trump is so unpopular. The conventional wisdom is that it's because he broke his promises – to bring down costs, to stay out of wars, to release the Epstein files.

They're holding up a major escalation in Iran and a crackdown on abortion until after the midterms to limit political damage. To the extent that the last two years have been a right-wing smash-and-grab operation, the next two will be worse.

I totally get why UK reporters can’t be this direct given the libel laws there. But, the Man City situation should be described as “the ruling family of an absolute monarchy cheated to buy Premier League titles.” The club’s fans, the vast majority of staff and players did nothing wrong.

Strong endorse. Will say it again: the pundit class's choice (and it was a choice) to overread 2024 as a seismic cultural shift was a catastrophe for this country, emboldening Trump to go full fascist and encouraging institutional surrender in the face of it. This lives on amid his total collapse.

9/11 could have been a moment for the country to pause and consider how the costs of maintaining a global empire meant supporting regimes like the House of Saud. Instead, it became the moment in which the empire began to turn inward--which eventually grew into the fascism we're experiencing today.

Biden checks his watch at a ceremony and Fox does nonstop segments on it for weeks. But Trump falls asleep repeatedly at the 9/11 ceremony and they won’t even show it. But national broadcast news networks won’t show it either because that would be impolite.
