🔥 👇 I've seen NIMBYs using TOD language as an argument against adding apartment, so I think this is pretty spot-on. TOD *should* mean that we get apartments next to every bus stop.

Like, regulations that establish decreasing density at arbitrary distances from higher-order transit stations are pure political compromises, with no scientific evidence, and a caricature of how market forces work (or how laypeople think they work).

This is heart-breaking. I'm starting to let my 10 year old bike in the neighborhood on his own and I worry about drivers. We need serious road diets along all streets, especially around schools and parks.

Overblown or not, the AI industry isn't even trying to make an affirmative case for them. Gas turbines, constant noise, high water demands--oh, okay, is this for an emergency hospital after a disaster? No? It's just so rich people who will never even visit here can become even richer? Then no.

ACTION ALERT 🚨 Right now, the Senate is considering adding language to the transportation reauthorization bill to restrict bike lanes. Tell Congress: funding for bike safety projects MUST continue! Take action: action.bikeleague.org/page/101946/...
Action alert graphic. A man holds a sign next to a bike lane that says "Everyone deserves safe streets!" Below the image is white text on a black background: "Tell congress: Funding for Bike Safety Projects MUST Continue! bikeleague.org/action-center"Action alert graphic. White text on a black background: "Congress Must Save America's Bike Lanes
Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy erased the data that shows bike lanes reduce crashes and don’t cause congestion. Then he asked Congress to defund all bike lanes — and even remove bike lanes from busy roads.

Now, Congress may be listening: the Senate is considering adding language to the transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict what kinds of roads could have bike lanes on them at all.

We need everyone in Congress to hear us clearly: bike lanes save lives and bicyclists have a right to ride on the roads and get home safely.

Tell your elected representatives: vote NO on any transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict the ability of federal funding to be used on bike safety projects. bikeleague.org/action-center"

The drop in teen moms is one of the most major factors driving birth rate declines. We've gone from >80 per 1,000 15- to 19-year-olds in 1950 to 50 per 1,000 in 2000 to 12.7 today! This fact needs to be at the forefront of every discussion about birth rates

For 45 years, Berkeley built virtually no new housing. By the mid-2010s, it was one of the most expensive college towns in America. Around that time, YIMBYs took over and kicked off a building boom. Today, rents are below 2018 levels in nominal terms—a remarkable case of progress on affordability.

What an incredible turnout for our Ballston Missing Middle walking tour this past Saturday! A huge thank you to all our neighbors, from curious locals to dedicated policy advocates, who joined us to explore the evolution of Arlington’s housing landscape. Stay tuned for more walking tours!
This empty lot will soon become an EHO 6-plex with 8 new shade trees. Infill housing is key to using our land more sustainably, placing homes like this closer to jobs, transit, goods and services. Our tour started at Welburn Square, Ballston. As the final section of the R-B corridor, the Ballston Metro serves as a powerful engine for transit-oriented development and economic growth. With rental units priced below Arlington’s 3-bedroom median, Ballston’s first finished EHO home highlights the potential for missing middle to bring greater affordability to this desirable area.
