Sometimes, you just need to have someone put things in perspective. I wanted to give up on my book until my mom gave me hard truths to swallow. And, I learned that I like stories to forever live in my head and not actually put them down in a structured outline. It's a problem. #bvm #writing

Plotting the end of your novel sucks. I decided to sit down and come up with a solid plot for my novel - specifically, the ending. I couldn't do it. Because coming up with an ending felt like me already parting ways with my main character. ...this will be a problem. #bvm #writingcommunity

“You know—” We both freeze when the door to the courtyard opens, and Coop’s voice rings out. “I’m sitting outside with the rest of the student body, minding my business, when I happen to glance up from my taco over at this open window—” He gestures dramatically toward the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows that line the hallway. “—and see you two engaged in magical battle!”

I facepalm. “Coop, can you take care of it?” I ask, the words practically sighing themselves out of me.

“I can’t stop time and force the entire school to drink an amnesia potion, Lavon,” he deadpans.

Kenly, still struggling against the pennant flags holding her in place, pipes in helpfully, “Do the Jedi mind trick. They’ll comply with any suggestion you tell them.” Like it’s the most obvious solution.

“Huh.” Coop tilts his head, thinking it over. “Yeah, that works. Good plan.” He gives her a thumbs-up, clearly impressed.
