#Pride in Brighton is always a lovely and peaceful event but the thing I love the best is the car free roads, you can still cycle and it's wonderful and shows what our city could look like without the permanent congestion.

All four Green MPs voted against this cruel mistake of a Bill. To those who are scared and worried about what this result means, we will continue to vote against it, and stand against any proposals that seek to save money by impoverishing those already struggling to get by. Solidarity always 💚

Labour are making a political choice to push 400,000 people into poverty - or worse. These cuts will kill - and now our Labour council are refusing to let the very people affected speak at today's emergency council meeting. Join us outside Hove Town Hall at 3pm to say no.

I had a right old rant about Tony Blair's ignorant, self-interested statement on The Jeremy Vine Show today. I mentioned that he has worked as a lobbyist for PetroSaudi, earning Tony Blair Associates £41,000/month, plus 2% of any deal he brokered. Starts 9 minutes in: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

As I watch Starmer tear up Labour's prospects by attacking people in poverty, abusing those who care about the living world and appeasing the ultra-rich, I feel the same sense of dislocation as I did before the Iraq War. Anyone can see the disaster coming, except, apparently, the government.

⚖️ The scales aren’t balanced. The govt is cutting support for disabled people while refusing to tax extreme wealth. After 15 years of austerity, it's time to rebalance our economy—for good. Tax wealth fairly. Invest in people. Protect our future.

For Palestinians being killed and the future of human rights, we must keep calling out our Government’s complicity in this genocide. The UK has now issued more new arms licences than it pitifully suspended last year. Israel's violation of international law is our violation of international law.

If you want a clear illustration of the Government’s disregard for really engaging with disabled people, they have produced NO accessible versions of their plans today.
Image is a screenshot of the Government’s Green Paper on welfare reform. ‘A highlighted section reads: We have published this paper ahead of the accessible versions to put detailed information about the matters subject to consultation in the public domain at the earliest opportunity.’

If Labour approves the Rosebank oil field, it would be the final straw for many of its green-minded voters. It might appease corporate power for a moment, but in doing so it will lose far more than it gains. The government seems to be on a self-destructive streak. Now's the time to rethink.

Already, without a shred of evidence, he has blamed the air crash on disabled air traffic controllers, with horrible, stereotyping slurs about their disabilities.🧵
