I have a new novella out in the 20th Anniversary edition of Clarkesworld this month! "The Job" is about a woman with serious self-image issues who takes a contract to survey an alien ocean for corporate exploitation, wearing the body of a bioengineered whale. clarkesworldmagazine.com/bear_10_26/

Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes holds up so goddamn well. I was hoping it wasn’t just nostalgia. A great Legion story.

Johns understands something critical: Brainy is friends with the rest of the Legion.

Now knowing that Gary Frank is British, I do have to give him props for getting one past his American editors for how Stone Boy flips the bird.

This whole bit is a quick retcon done right, expanding on what we’ve read, not dismissing anything, and fitting the characters and story wonderfully.

When you break it down like that, Superman is not nearly as OP as some people try to say. Aside, I like this story restoring his connection to the Legion.

Wildfire’s conversely, while you’ll never beat the Dave Cockrum original, I think this one’s comes in a solid second. Maybe it’s the Kirby Krackle.

One thing that I really appreciate this story is that it uses more than just Adventure era Legionnaires. Whenever that’s done it annoys me and disingenuous to 20 years of stories.

This was my second Legion story. I read a trade paperback of Great Darkness Saga and then shortly after, the hardback of this was recently out.

I’m incredibly stoked and honoured to have made the shortlist in two categories of the amazing @selkieawards.org with Kid Eastwood the Movie! I worked super hard on it, so to see it recognised in this way is very exciting. Best of luck to everyone shortlisted, it’s all killer no filler!!

Akira Special Edition on DVD. Bought used at Electronic Boutique some time in 2002 after I finally got a DVD drive for my PC. Funny enough, when I bought my first Blu-ray Player, Akira was also my first anime purchase. I've bought this movie four f-ing times so far. Another blu (for the slip) and 4K

Hey, this is one of the best video games you will ever play. This has a story that exceeds the best that Bioware or any other similar studio has to offer you. It has moments that beat The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. This is one of the single greatest narratives in video games.

Wow, 20 years of Clarkesworld. I admit I don’t keep up with every issue, but I always maintain my sub (checking my old Kindle sub, I think my first issue was 60 back in 2011. So 15 year anniversary for me!) If you’re out there looking for sci-fi short fiction there is no better place to go!
