I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

joe biden's life had gone like a story about joe biden. i don't mean that everything that happened to him was good, but everything which happened to him was integrated into this narrative. this was the first thing in his life which violated the rules of the story and he had no idea what to do.

These fragments from a Roman villa in Spain are not from a mosaic but from a fresco. If you look closely you’ll see a grid of lines, many following the contour of the figures, much as tesserae do on mosaics. This trompe-l’oeil technique simulates mosaics. 1/ 🏺 1st-2nd c. Museo de Málaga 📸 me
Fragment of a fresco depicting part of a human face, mostly the eyes. Thin lines form a grid pattern, simulating the edges of tesserae.Fresco fragment showing a naked torso of a woman, her legs and pubic area covered in a red himation (cloak). Her right hand carries a basket laden with fruit, which look like giant globes of grapes. Grapevine leaves appear in the background. A Dionysian scene. The faux tesserae grid lines follow the curves of the body.Fresco fragment depicting some sort of half-human creature with wild hair and bare torso, gesturing upwards with his right hand and holding a branched stick with his left. The faux tesserae grid lines follow the curves of his garment and body.Fresco fragment with the torso of perhaps a god with golden skin, a red himation flowing outwards and partially covering his or her legs. Perhaps Dionysos?

ever since the satanic panic the Very Smart person's line has been "maybe our fear of pedos is the real pedos" and if you can't see the connection between that and the fact that ghislaine was the only epstein associate who had any sort of trial i don't know what to say to you

prop @jailrespecter.bsky.social · 14h
do you think it might have something to do with the fact that "pedos ever being caught or seeing any sort of justice" feels like an unattainable pipe dream in pretty much every society

correlatively, when jordan peterson honks and blithers on about conquering the female chaos dragon, he's talking about symbolic or real rape of a woman
170
prop @jailrespecter.bsky.social · 14h
dworkin also says that this is why rapists and johns are sometimes treated as heroes, the narrative is that they came into contact with a terrifyingly dirty woman and survived
040
prop @jailrespecter.bsky.social · 14h
dworkin was absolutely right that society teaches that women are ontologically dirty and every time a man violates a woman it's treated not as a conscious choice to harm another person but rather as a moment of cosmic revelation of that fundamental dirtiness

Please, for the love of God, can the media stop calling random cranks who write fan fiction about their personal heroes in the past "historians."
Geoff Shepard, a former Nixon aide turned Watergate historian and revisionist, recently gave a two-hour presentation at Justice Department headquarters that laid out his theory that the deep state took Nixon down. The title of his 78-page slide deck: “Watergate As Lawfare.”

The Yuddite/rationalist primary defense mechanism is spurting out a big ink-cloud of thesaurus and number-laden complete nonsense, and then demanding that you waste your time "debating" them over it. The good news is that this trick is easily defeated by simply refusing to play the Debate Me game.

not a fan fiction person, don't judge it inherently, but my basic understanding is that it can be divided into "what would character x do in situation y" (i think there's some good fan fiction about harry potter having a gun, which is amusing) and "i'm going to make my sexyman babygirl do X!!!!!"

It's funny because noted sex-cult leader Big Yuds' argument for the AI murdering us all is that it will be a ruthlessly "logical" machine, whereas current AI is a gaussian blur of the Collective Unconscious and if it nukes us all its because we wrote a lot of fiction where AI tries to kill humans.

walter benjamin is right that trauerspiel is a fundamentally and immovably protestant genre, but can only come from protestants who have consumed more catholic media than most (the actual trauerspiels were written to compete with jesuit playwrights in silesia, where my family is from)
