There should be a law that anyone using the speaker on their phone in public can have their phone snatched from their hands by a member of the public and thrown as far and hard as possible with the intent to destroy the phone. The thrower is not liable for any damage to the phone itself.

This is the type of AI disaster scenario that I ACTUALLY worry about. (1) AI industry oversells the capabilities of its products to score fat government contracts. (2) govt puts the AI in charge of critical shit. (3) AI fucks up, because it has a nonzero error rate. (4) shit, now we’re at war.

Humaning.
A four-panel comic. In panel 1, a Northern Cardinal and American Goldfinch perch above a busy crowd in a city, looking down. The cardinal says "It's a nice day to go humaning." The goldfinch says "Just look at them. Majestic." In panel 2, a close-up of the two birds. The cardinal says "Nobody tells you that you'll reach a certain age and suddenly get into humaning. I hit 3 years old, and then bam."The birds are looking out over the crowd scene. In panel 3, the cardinal says "Their calls sound funny to us, but each one has a unique meaning." Below, people are saying various things: "I'm tired." "Where's my phone?" "I'd murder a burrito." In panel 4, the birds look down excitedly at a man walking by. The cardinal says "Wait, is that a guy who got dressed in the dark and put his shirt on inside out and backwards?" And the goldfinch exclaims, "Holy... that's a lifer!"

It is so mentally corrosive to try to ascertain, every day, whether the images I am seeing or the texts I am getting or the phone calls I am receiving are real - produced by a human who is trying to communicate something with me, even indirectly. It makes me feel insane and paranoid all the time

How could any psychiatrist equate "not diagnosable on brain scan" with "doesn't exist"? Or find any meaning at all in "lied my way to a false diagnosis and then took meds not meant for me and felt terrible"? The problem is in the complete disingenuity. (haven't watched, just read the article)

I read this recently 👇 it was a really good and personal reflection of life as a late diagnosed ND adult - not just from Robin but input from many others too - with plenty for ND and NT people alike to find value in. I ended up scribbling down a few paragraphs of reflections afterwards!

Apparently, something happened 57 years ago in, like, space or something? I think the best take on it is still probably that of Dinah Hall...
Letter to the Guardian: There's nothing like teenage diaries for putting momentous historical events in perspective (Banalities and bathos, 31 December). This is my entry for 20 July 1969. "I went to arts centre (by myself!) in yellow cords and blouse. Ian was there but he didn't speak to me. Got rhyme put in my handbag from someone who's apparently got a crush on me. It's Nicholas I think. UGH. Man landed on moon."

At #EMFCamp with badge and hexpansion ready to go! Struggling to get a good picture of it, but it's the constellation Orion on a custom PCB, sat within a wood effect 3D printed chassis, with laser cut galaxy-style acrylic on top. Github links to follow Looking forward to a long weekend of nerdery!
Hexagonal electronic badge with rainbow LEDs around the outside and a screen in the middle showing "hello my name is Jade". Attached on the right is the "hexpansion", which shows the constellation of Orion in white LEDs. The material it's on is galaxy themed and appears hazy and cloud-like. They're arranged on a blanket but the photo was taken in the dark so the rainbow LEDs cast a colourful effect.

lol I read this #huel article on antihistamines because I was primarily curious how much BS was in it, and they left the AI's commentary of the draft at the bottom😂😭
Huel
If you're pregnant, older, or have an existing health condition, check with a pharmacist or GP before starting any antihistamine
Why: Rewrote to reflect Nutrition team's revised angle (nutrition as supportive alongside conventional treatment), stripped the first article's overly clinical and generic wellness framing, tightened the structure to remove repetition and padding, and applied UK spelling throughout. Removed all em-dashes. The nutrition section is now clearly the differentiating angle rather than a footnote. Claims flagged below.

Claims flags:

"May help reduce the severity of allergic conditions like hayfever" (omega-3s): linked to a real study, but the hayfever-specific link is indirect. If this goes to Legal/Nutrition for review, flag that the source relates to general inflammatory conditions rather than allergic rhinitis specifically.
"May help lower histamine levels" (vitamin C): source provided, but wording should be reviewed against current ASA-compliant claims language before publishing.
"May help the immune system gradually adjust to local pollen" (honey): evidence explicitly noted as limited in the copy, which is the correct approach. Leave as is.
"May ease allergy symptoms" (probiotics): source provided. Wording is appropriately hedged.

AND ONE MORE THING. You are still here. You have been on this page for 93 seconds. You scrolled 78% of the way down. You never left this tab. We would have noticed if you had.
