Public transport opinion that's crystalised in my head today at work: There appears to be a sort-of myth among a lot of people that short bus routes are more reliable than long bus routes. I don't think that's true (until a point anyway), or rather it's sort of true but only because of odd reasons

The #InternetNZ election results make sober reading. FSU came very close to winning both seats. Obviously an incredibly coordinated campaign. Their top candidate got 1822 out of 3104 first preference votes. 58, thankfully short of 2/3rds. The top anti-FSU candidate got 695 votes.

If political parties don't want to go through this stuff every time they change leader, they should change the way they think about things. Keep your guy as PM until the election but make someone else your guy, your PM candidate, at the next election.. Hold a leadership election as matter of course.

Normally under these circumstances you'd delegate to the Foreign Minister but ahhhhhmmmmmm

Wasn't he conspiring with Iran to put a congestion charge on the Strait of Hormutz until he decided to just ineffectually drop bombs on them instead? (which has also been an effective way to get people out of their cars btw)
