This is not quite the final copy (I feel like I have a few more tweaks to make), but this is the “I don’t use AI” section of my website I’m putting together for my freelance work.

I don't use AI

Anybody can generate lines of code, but developing software that is secure, reliable, and maintainable requires a multitude of skills and years of practical experience.

Furthermore, access to AI models is highly subsidised, and as these subsidies are inevitably phased out the cost of using AI for software development can and will only increase, and as the complexity of software invariably rises during its development, so too does the risk of being dependent on AI to maintain it in the future.

So my policy is simple: I don't use it, for anything. Not to generate code, text, or images, or even as a search engine. There's simply no substitute for human intuition and ingenuity.
