Anyone still whining that we need more diplomacy with Russia, while the Russians respond to all diplomatic efforts by killing more Ukrainian civilians, is just helping spread the Kremlin’s propaganda.

OTD in 2015 Russia began bombing Syria. -we denied we'd do it -we then did it -we bombed lots of hospitals, shopping centers & schools to create refugees -we said it would be WW3 if NATO got involved -when NATO helped throw us out, we just ran away Sound familiar?

Why sell American weapons to China if it plans to attack Taiwan one day? Oh, right – because the current U.S. president isn’t going to defend Taiwan. Let all those TSMC semiconductors fall into China’s hands. Why not? Then the whole world can depend on China instead.

Here he calls out the media for (once again) sane washing Trump, in probably the most egregious case of all – his profoundly and dangerously unhinged speech to the UN last week. It's a 5-alarm fire folks. But you wouldn't know it reading the NYT.

Imagine a scenario where a criminal does so many crimes, the government doesn't have the time or manpower to investigate all of them, only leaving the criminal free to do even more crimes. And then he gets immunity to those crimes and any others by the Supreme Court of the United States.

With regard to the overt and jaw-dropping use of public money to manufacture and broadcast Trump politicals ads, I'm just spitballing here, but maybe, perhaps, if the U.S. Supreme Court didn't give the president blanket immunity from prosecution for crimes he wouldn't feel so comfortable criming.

I don't love dunking on folks but it's so fucking funny to me that Trump was convicted of 34 felonies 2 years ago, faced no punishment, and went on to win the presidency a second time and journalists are still like, "hmm, I have an inkling that maybe he believes he's above the law for some reason."
Post from NYT reporter Eric Lipton

"What an odd moment in United States history.

A U.S. president is running an overtly political campaign advertisement, right before midterm elections, paid for by the U.S. government.

Trump appears to believe he is immune from any kind of legal limit."

Humanitarian aid stays, which is the Moscovian framing: let the victim eat while the rapist keeps the house. Then comes the actual point. The AfD wants privileged access to Ukrainian rare earths and other resources as "compensation" for previous loans. That is coercion.
