🤖📊 On Tuesday, I somewhat spontaneously “raged against the machine” at @tuwien.at #Informatics. In short: replacing population surveys with generative AI is a bad idea. On many levels. Still, it's something that is currently being discussed in parts of the polling & market research industry.
I stand behind a white TU Wien lectern in a conference room, speaking into a microphone and gesturing with one hand. I wear a light grey polo shirt and a blue TU Wien lanyard. The audience is visible as blurred silhouettes in the foreground, while a light grey wall and wooden paneling frame the background.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of participating in the #TagDerParlamentsforschung at @parlament.gv.at. Rich discussions on the role of emotions in politics & how to understand #representation as something citizens feel, MPs navigate under pressure, & young people can learn through playful experience.
I stand at the front of an ornate room in the Austrian Parliament, giving comments during Panel II, titled “How do we perceive differences in representation?” I am wearing a dark blazer, light blue shirt and light trousers, and am gesturing with both hands while standing beside a lectern with microphones and a laptop. To the left, a large screen displays the panel title and the names of the participants, including Christian Ignorek, Zoe Lefkofridi, Roland Trabe, Jakob-Moritz Eberl as discussant, and Julia Heiss as panel chair. To the right of the speaker is a dark blue Parliament Austria backdrop. The room features decorative marble wall panels, tall columns, parquet flooring and a chandelier. The back of an audience member’s head is visible in the foreground.A panel discussion takes place on a low stage at the Austrian Parliament. Five panelists are seated in a row of dark chairs in front of a large dark blue backdrop repeatedly displaying the Parliament Austria logo. The room has an ornate interior with marble columns, decorative wall panels and high ceilings. The panelists (Julia Heiss, Christian Ignorek, Zoe Lefkodridi, and Roland Trabe) are engaged in discussion: I sit on the far right and am speaking into a handheld microphone and am gesturing with one hand, while the others look toward me and listen. Several panelists hold notes or papers. Small round tables with water glasses and carafes are placed between the chairs.
