People are very bad at predicting what other people want when it comes to climate change and clean energy. Most people want rapid buildout of clean power, now. There is an durable super-majority of Americans that want climate action. Somehow this is not accepted as reality by people in power.

Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license. This is pure cruelty. www.erininthemorning.com/p/kansas-sen...
An official letter from the Kansas Division of Vehicles dated February 23, 2026, with a redacted recipient address. The letter notifies the recipient that due to the enactment of Senate Bill 244, all Kansas driver's licenses and IDs must reflect the holder's sex at birth. It states that the recipient's current credential will become invalid immediately upon the law's publication on February 26, 2026, with no grace period. The recipient is directed to surrender their current ID to receive a new one matching their sex assigned at birth. The document concludes with instructions on how to appeal the notice if received in error, along with contact information for the department.

I salute the honesty and courage of these authors, and I am sure we all share a collective shiver from knowing that we all could easily make (and maybe have made) similar analysis mistakes in our own work #AcademicChatter
This article has been retracted at the request of the Authors.
The Authors requested the retraction of the paper after detecting a critical error in the preprocessing script. Specifically, when selecting trial types to average reaction times for the calculation of the approach bias the Authors mistakenly treated a filtering variable - containing values of “0” and “1” - as logical, rather than as character-coded values. As a result, instead of averaging across all relevant trials in a condition, the approach bias was calculated based on the first trials only.
To assess how severely this error affects the findings, the Authors re-ran all analyses from the published manuscript using the corrected preprocessing routine. Unfortunately, this correction substantially altered the results. The Authors found that the key findings are not robust to the corrected approach - with the only result remaining being that the link between approach bias and intake is moderated by dietary intentions.
The Authors would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Warning from German scientists that current observations of emissions and ocean temperatures make 3C of #globalheating by mid-century plausible. 3C of heating makes our current global society unlivable, by the way. Parts of Spain become the Sahara, eg. worldcrunch.com/focus/green-...
If we play this out: What would 3 °C of warming mean in 25 years? What would the world look like?
FB: We would all live in different climate zones. Open an old world atlas and you see a huge red patch for the Sahara. With 3 °C of warming, that zone would stretch into parts of Spain. Vegetation, rainfall weather patterns, all would look very different.
And what would 3 °C mean for Germany?
FB: In summer, meteorological records could reach up to 50 °C. Three degrees of global warming does not mean hot days will just be 3 or 4 degrees hotter. It could mean up to 10 degrees hotter. We would also face much
