A long, long time ago, in the early days of 2026, a music duck took a nap on a bus from NY to DC and awoke to find a new bus driver was refusing to take them to DC. That was a really fun live Bluesky thread for those of us who weren't on the bus.

I don't have time to write more, but ICE is working to remove people to third countries in violation of D.V.D. v. DHS. I've been up since 5:20 A.M. working with two other attorneys to prevent our client from being shipped out. If you rep someone at risk of third country removal, check on them NOW

If it seemed like a major newspaper making some conflict at a random dyke bar a national news piece in a push to depict trans and higher-risk folks as inherently unreasonable was suspect af...well, it was. Y'all who were breathlessly sharing that story? You were just being played. Have some sense.

This is a ruse to worsen the risk pool of ACA plans so they can gut the law. Slash overall spending on premiums subsidies while increasing rates which increases individual subsidies & therefore provides another excuse to cut the subsidies for being too high. Quite cunning.

This point, from my recent interview with @perrybaconjr.bsky.social for TNR, is so crucial. Trans people are desperate for relief from the relentless Republican attacks impacting all of us. When Democrats move right, they signal relief may not be coming, and that engenders a lot of despair.
And so for Democrats to say, They have a point on some of this, it is engendering a lot of hopelessness and a lot of fear in the trans community, because we have been just trying to hold on, hoping that this time would end and we would be able to get back to where we were five years, six years ago. And what Democrats are signaling is, like, No, we’re going to keep things as they are, and maybe even make them worse.

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years. 5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions. 19 states banned legal recognition 21 states have bathroom bans 8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs 25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

Big lawsuit filed by the family of Tierra Walker, who died of preeclampsia at 20 weeks pregnant after being denied abortion care. Argues Texas' abortion bans violate the state constitution's right to life and should be struck down. More soon on @autonomynews.co abortioninamerica.org/wp-content/u...
screenshot from page 60 of the complaint:
Not one of Ms. Walker’s medical providers sought to rely on the exception to Texas’s abortion bans or offered Ms. Walker’s life-saving abortion. To the extent Ms. Walker’s medical providers believed that she was never sick enough to qualify for the exception, Texas’s abortion bans, combined with the associated definitions of “abortion,” “reasonable medical judgment,” and “medical emergency,” are unconstitutionally vague in violation of the due course of law provision of Article I, Section 19 and thus unenforceable. See Paxton v. Annunciation House, Inc., 719 S.W.3d at 589.
208. In addition, to the extent Texas’s abortion bans and associated definitions were a proximate cause of Ms. Walker’s death, they violated her right to life under the Texas Constitution and are unconstitutional. Vernon’s Tex. Civ. Stats. ch. 6-1/2; Tex. Health & Safety Code §§ 170A.001-170A.007; Tex. Health & Safety Code §§ 171.201-171.212; Tex. Health & Safety Code § 245.002.
209. Finally, to the extent Texas’s statutory scheme, taken as a whole, cumulatively denied Ms. Walker her right to life without due process of law, Texas violated her right to life under the Texas Constitution

I made a bad call yesterday. I believe it's vital that, as a cisperson, I listen to and elevate the voices of transgender people on trans issues. My bad call was sharing only one thing on Talarico & wording it to suggest I agreed with her & that the writer spoke for all trans Texans.

I forgot about my large gingerbread Dr. Frank N Furter that I baked for a loved one to take to a cast party for the Georgetown Gilbert & Sullivan Society's 2015 production of the Rocky Horror Show.
A large gingerbread person taking up almost an entire baking tray decorated with shiny drawing onto the gingerbread person red high heels, black fishnets & garters connected to black painties, a red corset, red finger nails and red lips in a similar shape to the lips on Rocky Horror Picture Show posters. Blue m&ms for each eye.

11 days left of being 11 when she talked me into buying those boots in the east village. How could I say no?
The Neil Simon theatre marquee with a large image of a painting of Michael Jackson in all black, but for silver socks and glove, in one of his iconic poses standing on his toes with knees forward, hips back, and back curves. A sign that reads "MJ The Musical" hangs below and a red flag wi to he same of Jackson is visible above the marquee.

A teenager in a black tshirt, black shorts, and black platform ankle boots is replicating Jackson's pose on the sidewalk newly the marquee.

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.
A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Like many common insults in contemporary English, "freak" is a word that has long applied to disabled people. Using the word "freak" as a slur against eugenicists basically gives tacit approval to the eugenicist belief that disabled people are less than the abled.
