And I guess the "car" part is also uncertain, technically

It is a car that, for a brief moment, fell more slowly than usual

Having grown up with parents who accumulated a lot of stuff (though not to hoarder levels), I am somewhat stressed out by the thought of owning things, and vastly prefer to spend money on experiences

If I'm being realistic, I would just travel without worrying about price tags. First-class flights always. Top-tier hotels in the heart of the city. First thing I'd do is book a first-class flight to Australia/NZ.

It's like one big family... of people with professional-grade mics and five free minutes to read something aloud for a friend

I love how all the @nebula.tv contributors tap each other to read quotes in their videos. I'm watching an FD Signifier video and then suddenly a wild Dan Olsen appears. I'm watching Lindsay Ellis and then Todd in the Shadows is telling me about cruise ships.

The supermarket was out of my normal fish sticks so instead I had to get these chode-ass ones that look like mozzarella sticks and make me sad every time that I'm not actually eating mozzarella sticks
A pile of fish sticks that look like mozzarella sticks

Do you think when the third wise man rolled up with gold, the first two were like "wtf dude, I thought we agreed to just give him various resins"

For a very long time I (having never seen an episode of SpongeBob) thought that Mr. Krabs's full name was Maynard G. Krabs, a play on Maynard G. Krebs. I have no idea why I thought this was the case, as clearly I did not read it anywhere

Oh my legs are pasty?? Who gives a fuck, if my legs were tan I'd still be ugly

involuntaryorange @involuntaryorange.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
I just learned that people are snorting peptides to get tanner and, man, I have saved myself so much money and time and health by deciding as a child that I was ugly and that there was nothing I could do to change it.

A girl just slightly tripped on the stairs in front of me and then said "I'm sorry" to no one in particular and I know that's going to haunt her for the rest of the day but my only reaction was "girl, same"

Fun hockey fact: "sin bin" isn't the official term, it's just a phonetic spelling of how British people pronounce the actual name, St. Bohn

I mean, I can see how it's a product of the 1963 publication, but it certainly didn't age well, unlike most of the book

The experience of reading "The Feminine Mystique" in the 21st century is that for the first like 70% you're like "fuck yeah Betty, this is so true" and then you get to the chapter where she's like "and worst of all, when we're forced to be housewives we turn our sons gay!"

Really enjoying "The Incident at Galley House" so far. It's similar to "Return of the Obra Dinn," but with a much more user-friendly interface and no actual gore. 6 hours in and still a fair amount to go!

As an adult looking back, I am not sure whether "sitting Indian style" is a reference to Native Americans or to actual Indians (lotus pose). I mean, either way we shouldn't say it anymore

“This doesn’t actually have anything to do with me” is such a powerful anti-posting mental device. Discourse I could jump in on? This doesn’t actually have anything to do with me. Other posters beefing? This doesn’t actually have anything to do with me. An internet personality exposed? Guess what

I have already watched like four different youtubers talk about the Mr. Beast book and I am pleased to now have a podcast episode to listen to. Hearing people eviscerate this incredibly bad book is the gift that keeps on giving.

For one of my friends, her indie bookshop is next to a cute coffeeshop, so I couple the book with a $10 gift card for the coffeeshop so she can have a little treat-yourself afternoon. It's an excellent gift!

Something I've been doing when I want to gift a book to someone who lives far away is finding their local indie bookstore and ordering it there for them to pick up. Sure, it's more expensive than Amazon, but I'm supporting a local business and my friend has an excuse to go to the bookstore!

I actually went to high school with a decent number of people who are now famous, but most of them did not suck as much as this guy did

Annoying: A guy who sucked in high school is now famous enough to have a Wikipedia page Rewarding: There's a section all about how he's bad at his job

If the use of AI in signage and packaging continues apace, eventually we're going to reach a bizarre place where the most trustworthy products are the ones that look like this
A can of "Gentle Giant" dog food, which looks like it was put together in Photoshop by a Boomer having a manic episode

I scroll past the Digger ad every time Instagram serves it to me because the animatronic (?) cat creeps me out. I have zero idea what the movie is even about. (Although I guess I'm glad they didn't subject an actual cat to being bathed by Tom Cruise)

As a former pretentious little shit who grew out of it, rationalists (et al) annoy the piss out of me because they are adults with the mentality of tweens - they are somehow still convinced they are the greatest geniuses who have ever walked the earth. It is the worldview of an arrogant baby.
