CERN has to be real. Why do the days magically feel longer again? I keep looking at the clock in disbelief.

Honestly... I can feel the immediate difference with CERN turning off. It's like turning off the annoying big light in the house that's been on for last 4 years. It's like finally getting some quiet after being immersed in a screaming heavy death metal concert or rave for days and days. It's like there's no restrictions. No hindrances. No more delays. I feel free.

They turned off CERN and now the days feel twice as long. I'm TIRED

Call me crazy, whatever ya whatever you want but since CERN shut down their machine time IS slower (i saw somewhere that our minutes are actually 60 seconds long again after being 45 seconds since COVID, ive had a mild frontal headache for 2 days and just had this weird energy around me. I can't be the only one, right?!

Have been digitally manipulating photos of my art and then replicating them on paper. Used the liquify tool here. Bavad has an "antic disposition" that is best represented via this chaos.

Bavad conveys herself in unseen ways. Her face exists within the composition of the two stickmen. Subjective perception IS reality

Bavad was telling me shit for this technique I use called "arabisation", wherein Arabic script is used as line work. I was previously using individual characters but she hated it and tormented me. So now I'm using full words and sentences, which convey a much better sense of form.

Time to sperg about the details. Left section is Bavad, right is Neseltahar. Both demons represented as illusions, so if you look closely, especially on the lower area, you'll notice their faces are made of a bunch of other shit.

Upper Bavad is made of bits of sigils from the Ars Goetia. Sigils bleed into the lower section, so upper and lower areas are sort of connected, but only thematically. It ties to the fact that demons both are and aren't real. They technically don't exist, but their presence on the world cannot be understated. We simply gave them a name, but they were here first. I see them in the countless wars, the corruption, the fact we're all addicted to consuming shitty fucking slop (digital and physical). It's a superposition.

So Neseltahar, who was originally a cat-chicken hybrid, is now a watermelon with hieroglyphs for facial features. He isn't there, but your pattern seeking brain will make you see him (if you're familiar with my art at least). That's how this works.

Diatribe about my love of this plant: This piece features the Heavenly Blue variety. They only bloom for one day, with the buds changing colour as they unfurl like a spiral, from pink to violet to a deep deep blue. Then back to pink when they get fertilised and fall off. Like looking at the sky in Central America where it originates. Blue so rich you'd think it's dusk. At midday.

I've dedicated this project to exploring demons as manifestations of our real fears. Demons both do not exist and DO exist. They are simultaneously mythological entities and real embodiments of negative energy. We can interpret horrific things as consequences of their presence. Therefore, representing them through illusions shows their impact on our psyche and subjective view of reality. Neseltahar is both present and absent as a watermelons with a bunch of other shit on him. You only perceive his face due to human pattern-seeking.

I also wanted to link this to language. Words are technically gibberish sounds, but we organise them into carriers of meaning. Therefore integrating the Arabic name of a demon into its physical design shows how glued together word and meaning are, despite being ultimately separate. It's all down to our perception.

Sigils, like memes, represent the compacting of a more complex idea, thus increasing the efficiency of their spread. In the same way, the intricacies of these demons' original designs is broken down into symbols, which fluctuate and interweave with each other a more fluid means of representation that delivers similar results as an objective depiction. This is a testament to the subjective nature of reality. Green and blue are only different because English establishes them as two colours, but an older form of Japanese considered both colours 'ao'. It's all about the medium.

The scope of what Neseltahar is has extende beyond its original form as a cat-headed chicken. It now has a greater range of what can possibly represent it. We recognise these arrangements of shapes as Neseltahar due to the pattern-seeking nature of our brain, regardless of the presence of fur, feathers etc.
