Today marks three years of war in Sudan. And for three years, Canada’s response has fallen short. For three blood-soaked years, hunger, violence and fear have shaped everyday life in Sudan. Families have been torn apart. Communities destroyed.

Access to clean water and food has collapsed in many areas. Health care, education, transportation, communications and banking systems have all been severely damaged or destroyed.

The results are genocide, sexual and gender-based violence, famine and mass displacement.

It's time to push MPs to vote in favour of Bill C-233 and stem the flow of unrestricted and unregulated arms to Trump’s illegal war in Venezuela, ICE’s campaign of terror and Israel’s ongoing genocide. It’s time for our law to guarantee Canadian military exports are aligned with international law.

Canadian-made military components reach Israel/elsewhere through a loophole that allows Canadian-made parts to be shipped through the U.S. and on without oversight. A vote in Parliament on the No More Loopholes Bill C-233 is right around the corner. We have a rare opportunity to close that loophole.
