I’ve been saying the same thing for years @mikeo-g.bsky.social. The general public are, on average, fucking idiots who can’t be trusted with anything more than sparklers. There’s no need for them to let off fireworks. They can go to a professional display. It’d cut down on the strain on the NHS

I'm not anti-southeast (I lived there for about 15 years when I moved back from the States), and I've got loads of friends from there. My mate Jerry sounds (and bizarrely looks) like Dom Littlewood, and his accent doesn't bother me at all. My beef is with those where it seems 'put on'.

Ha! No. The Channel 4 reporter narrating the video. He correctly pronounces entire sentences when he's quoting someone, but then drops all manner of Ts when he's not. It sets my teeth on edge. My parents were both Scousers, so as you can imagine, I'm no stranger to (strong) regonal accents...

These videos would carry more credibility if narrated by someone who can pronounce the letter T in the middle of words Teeth set on edge by:"repor-ed", "hospi-ul" and "Author-i-ies". It sounds illiterate. I've no problem with regional accents but he pronounces the T in some words but not others.

Having gotten home at 10.20pm, and not had dinner, I talked myself into cooking two duck breast portions I had, and made mash potato. It looked nice, but I made a little sauce out of the duck meat juices/fat, plus some soy sauce, garlic red wine and balsamic glaze. It tasted better than it looked.

Just home now, from a 2-hour badminton session. I think I won about half the games I played, but it’s easy to lose count. This is two nights in a row. Last night was the usual place in Chippenham, but tonight was further afield in Melksham.

I'm not a hater, just not that bothered by the genre, and I feel it's been overdone with the sheer number of sequels and spinoffs. That said, I'm always prepared to give things a second chance, and I get Disney+ for free from the bank. Do I need to have see the preceding 102 other Avengers films?
