Potato painter, friend of magpies. Nostalgia is the cage we make for ourselves. We must all curate our own mythologies. Sometimes the only sensible thing to do is shut myself in a dark room and scream myself hoarse

And so, you’ve not governed for the good of everyone. You’ve risked the wellbeing and prosperity of the whole country, legitimised racism and brought fascist thuggery onto our streets, because you’d rather pander to prejudice than stand up to it. What a price we’re all paying for your failure.

The ADHD conspiracy and the gender critical movement and the Prof Arday story and the crackdown on disability support are all the same story. There is a default ideal human: a cishet non-disabled white male. The further you deviate from that ideal, the more suspect you become.

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

Andy Burnham proving to be the most anglo-centric PM. His idea for regional mayors to take key roles in UK economy. These are all English mayors. If he means England's economy then he should say so.

And because those groups are marginalised, it's *not actually a spectrum*. It's not right politics versus left politics, it's in-group politics versus out-group politics. The "centre" position here is just prejudice somewhat moderated by not wanting to appear too obviously an utter fascist cunt.

I think the moment that we started to normalise people being able to make racist remarks without them being called out and told they they were racist is when Gordon Brown apologised to that woman he called a bigot. She was a bigot and he should have never apologised for it.

How will we pay for the NHS?” “How will we pay for disability benefits?” “How will we pay for your pension?” Starmer today: almost £80,000,000,000 a year on defence by 2029. No one asked how we’d pay for it. They could start by actually collecting all the unpaid tax, & wealth-taxing the rich.

In particular, something that's very important to lots of people in this country, is the genocide in Gaza, which Andy Burnham often refuses to recognise as a genocide.
