Creative output at an all time high. Over the weekend I: Set-up and tested my Kaiju wargame in tabletop simulator. Rearranged an old song, and composed a new song for a live performance. Painted 6 miniatures for gameday next weekend. Tested a friend's new digital painting software.

Most of the folks I used to play with have quit music. The few that haven't do really professional normal stuff, filling in with popular bands for tours, or studio sessions. Feels weird that all my freak brothers and sisters hung it up. I always assumed the outsiders would be the last to stop.

The oddest thing about the response to this essay is people who say it’s “personal”. You can disagree about some or all of it! I may well be wrong! But it’s not “personal” to analyze a film or other work of art, even negatively. Criticism is more than “Hurray!” or “Hiss!”

I thought it would be fun to try and learn blender to make a little animation for a game video. The thing that makes learning blender impossible is that there have been so many updates I can't find up to date tutorials on basic features. Import PNG as layer how? That should be pretty simple...

My current project accidentally ended up closer to the #boardgame side of things than the #rpg side of things, and one of the largest differences in expectations is that board game players expect to hold every rule in their heads at all times. #gamedesign

I think games are art. I believe in patronizing the arts. I also do not think art should be a "product" So the fact that I'm a sensitive anti-capitalist and game lover, makes engaging with #rpg and #tabletop online a minefield. then I make something I'm proud of and things become very complicated

So I made a completely free print and play kaiju skirmish game. Nothing for sale, no patreon, no mailing list. Just a full blown, fully featured 4 player competitive game that I made because I like making art and I like impaling my friends on the space needle. Do your friends also need impaling?

Sweet Tooth is one of the greatest comics of all time in pacing and telling stories with layouts and editing. Probably THE greatest for a work of it's length and scope. but people mostly don't care about that, folks either do or don't want a post apocalyptic story about cute animal kids.
