For a long time I couldn’t understand why the boys chose “clavicular” to be the main guy when he looks so weepy. But I guess that’s the draw. Crying and pretending you’re just angry & righteous is one of the ultimate self-gratification feelings bc it merges everything (strong/weak; etc) together

One of the very best parts of freelance editorial is working with a writer or cartoonist who’s a man who listens on the way his narrative rhetorically treats its women. The absolute worst part is working with an artist who is a man who doesn’t listen (rare but deadening)

I will not get the readership, attention or plaudits my time, efforts & discomfort deserves. Because the Patriarchy is deep in comics too. I’m currently pouring a lifetime’s frustration, trauma, injury, rage & grief into my female centred comic MOTHERS RUIN. It’s informed by the experiences of myself & the women (inclusive women) I’ve known, witnessed & comforted from their experiences of surviving society. It’s dripping with ire.
