An isolated border village in Hope Harbour, South Korea, near the Demilitarized Zone, faces an unfolding extraterrestrial invasion. The narrative shifts perspectives to make the alien invaders the protagonists. Review by Tim Robins SPOILERS AHEAD Hope? Nope. I’d like to leave it there, but I expect you want more. And there certainly is more, so very, very, very much more. Artists Now Bursaries support visual artists at every stage of their career to develop their artistic practice and professional development. 

You can apply for between £500 and £1,500 towards a tailored programme of activities that will help you develop your skills, knowledge, networks, opportunities or professional profile. We’re looking for applications that demonstrate a clear opportunity for development and explain how the proposed activities will have a meaningful impact on your practice. 

The bursary can support a range of activities, from professional training, mentoring and research to residencies, networking and specialist advice. It can also contribute towards some of the costs associated with developing your practice.

Who can apply: Current Artist members of Artists Now 

Bursary amount: £500 to £1,500 

Applications open: Thursday 17 September 2026, 12pm (midday) 

Application deadline: Thursday 15 October 2026, 12pm (midday) Your application should describe a plan of activities that is tailored to your development. There's no set format, but you should explain how your proposed activities will help you develop your practice, skills, opportunities or professional profile. 

Your plan might include:

Research and development, experimentation or collaboration 

Residencies tailored to your practice 

Networking with artists, galleries, organisations and other relevant partners

Business development activities or specialist advice to support your practice
