Gene regulation at the early human maternal–fetal interface
Nature Reviews Genetics, Published online: 12 October 2026; doi:10.1038/s41576-026-01014-5Human placentation establishes a dynamic maternal–fetal interface in which fetal trophoblast cells coordinate tissue remodelling, immune adaptation and resource exchange to support pregnancy. In this Review, the authors discuss how single-cell, spatial and functional omics are uncovering gene regulatory mechanisms underlying trophoblast differentiation and maternal interactions and how these insights are advancing understanding of healthy placentation and pregnancy disorders.

The Society of Radiographers (SoR)  The Society of Radiographers (SoR) CT Advisory Group (CTAG) has developed this national competency framework to support consistent, safe and effective practice among radiographers working in computed tomography (CT). Built on existing research, professional standards and education requirements, the framework establishes a benchmark for assessing practitioner-level knowledge, skills and experience.
