Governing AI for Collective Wellbeing
Carnegie UK This report aims to inspire policymakers to use a collective wellbeing framework as the primary approach to governing AI coherently across the UK. It focuses on setting out principles and practical steps for how governments across the UK might govern high-impact AI in a way that strengthens our collective wellbeing, rather than undermining it. The paper gives particular attention to public sector adoption and publicly-governed systems, while recognising that private sector AI, data governance, regulation, inclusive design and wider ethical questions also require significant policy attention. Prevention: the general practice role in evidence-based and equitable prevention
Royal College of General Practitioners According to this report, around two thirds of patients trust their GP for advice on how to live healthily, yet three quarters of GPs say they lack the time to offer preventive care, which may include advice on lifestyle, vaccinations, and self-care. It argues that a stronger preventive approach could lead to better patient outcomes, reduced health inequalities, fewer avoidable hospital admissions and a more sustainable NHS.

The Quality Standard for Imaging 2026
The Society and College of Radiographers The standards set out the quality statements, outcome measures and supporting guidance that underpin the QSI Quality Mark. Each standard includes suggestions, notes and links to additional resources to help services understand what good quality looks like in practice. Developed through an extensive review process and consultation with stakeholders across the imaging community, the updated standards reflect the changing needs of imaging services whilst continuing to support high-quality, patient-centred care.

Breaking the cycle – How to build a more productive NHS
The Health Foundation - Building an NHS that serves patients, the public and staff well – now and in the future – will depend on sustained productivity growth. At its heart, improving productivity means achieving better health outcomes within the available resources. Causal estimates are challenging, but analysis across 14 high-income countries suggests that if England matched its highest performing peers, this could result in improved outcomes within the existing budget.

Peri-operative management of patients having day surgery
Association of Anaesthetists Day surgery is now recognised widely as being a vital component of modern healthcare delivery with overall day surgery rates in the UK now > 85%. Day surgery offers an enhanced experience for patients with reduced risk of postoperative complications (e.g. infections, cognitive impairment and venous thromboembolism); reduced utilisation of inpatient beds; decreased hospital expenditure; and reduced environmental impact.
