Four years ago, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline launched, and Americans have used its phone, text and chat options 26 million times since. But our new National Poll on Healthy Aging, and Michigan Poll on Healthy Aging, suggest a lack of awareness among people over 50: michmed.org/mKVmN
31% of people over 50 have never heard of any crisis line, and 69% have never heard of 988, according to new findings from the National Poll on Healthy Aging based at the University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation. Only 31% said they had heard of 988.
