Cautiously, he steps into the room, the temperature dropping even further. The Avalugg catches his eye first, wires running from a handful of machines that beep and pulse up and down like miniature heart monitors.
There's a barrier between them that warps the view of the Pokémon but there's no mistaking the size of it.
Then, as if magnetized, his eyes are drawn to a groaning man who is draped over a table full of papers.
Tsukishima's first thought is that something seriously bad has happened, injuring what he was hoping was not Kuroo Tetsurou. His concerns are dashed when the lump of a man begins to complain.
'Yukieee,' he whines pathetically. 'Meowscarada is mad at me again.'
Shirofuku looks at Tsukishima with disdain. 'Why he brings her here knowing she gets jealous is besides me.'

The grin threatens to overtake Kuroo's face. 'Oh, so missing lunch with me ruined the entire meal huh?'
Shit, Kuroo did not miss a beat. Luckily, neither did Tsukishima. He sits down next to Meowscarada, sparing her a nod to save himself half an hour of dirty looks, and schools his face once more.
'Clearly I meant my very first lunch here when your assistant dragged me down to your burning laboratory before you both left me in the maze that is the science department.'

Happy haikyu day. I’ve had no brain to write the last few weeks and I’m attempting to fix that by taking my silly krtsk family from a story past and dumping them into a new universe. Posting about it makes it real, right? Happy wipwednesday as well.

'She doesn't need to do all of that,' he purses his lips, complaining to no one. Kuroo's grandmother's love language was definitely food. When Kuroo had first brought Tsukishima home to break the news of their unplanned and far too early pregnancy to them, as soon as she was done crying about the teens in front of them ruining their lives, she had stuffed Tsukishima with so much homemade onigiri, he couldn't eat it for the rest of his pregnancy. Kyo himself had an unexplained love for the food that they attributed to her.

'Should I tell her that you don't want to eat her food when I call her tonight?' Kyo teases from the backseat.

'If you want to lose the right to call Ren for the next five weeks, go right on ahead. Let's just head there, Tetsurou.'

'Home it is.' He turns left after signaling, humming in tune with Tatsumi's quiet snores.
