One of the interesting little bits of discourse I ran across on X was "Is it okay to make porn of Malfoid?" Is art of Malfoid fucking Harry okay, or is the fantasy supposed to be of a pure and innocent love? What about a clothed Malfoid showing the camera her feet? Ridiculous question. Its all porn

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

Yay a bunch of civilians died horribly in a fire and massive amounts of oil were dumped into the ocean! This is cool and good because the country that sold the oil is bad!

A DHS representative did not immediately return The Independent’s request for comment.

I got a few new followers from my threads on Zionism, so just in case, I want to be clear that I have no tolerance for anti-Semitism, and that when I say I'm opposed to nationalism, I mean that I do not support the existence of any nation-state, including yours. All Countries Are Bastards.

Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
We might even have to start questioning whether there's a just way to have any nation at all.
020
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
But I guess admitting that would mean admitting some uncomfortable truths about our own countries in North America and Europe. That there's no way to be a "Christian nation" that is also secular and egalitarian. That our "Western civilization" is entirely founded on iniquity and oppression.

Like, ok sure, there are people who want Israel to be more of a pluralist, liberal democracy with a secular government and equal rights for everyone (or who are under the delusion that it already is). But that isn't a Jewish nation, is it?

Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
Just once, I would like for someone to give some specifics about what these other, non ethno-nationalist forms of Zionism actually are. Who are the Zionists that do not support the existence of a specifically Jewish state in Palestine?
162
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
But there is no valid argument for Zionism being anything other than a pro-colonial ethno-nationalist movement. Those are the stated values of its founders, and of the government of Israel. Every action taken to create, maintain, and expand the state of Israel has been in keeping with those values.
010
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
The phrase "Zionism is racism" is a critique of the inherent colonialism and ethno-nationalism of the movement. If you want to make an argument that those things are not racist, then go ahead. You will have a hard time convincing anyone who isn't an outright fascist, but that's your business.
111
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
I agree, you should look at the history of it. Which is that it's a pro-colonial ethno-nationalist movement that began in the 19th century. It would probably help if you brushed up on the history of nationalism and understood the various forms. "Pro-colonial" and "ethnic" are specific descriptors.

The only reason the ethno-colonial-nationalist basis for the Zionist movement is no longer publicized (though it was absolutely was prior to WW2) is that those sentiments lost their appeal after ethno-colonial-nationalism caused two devastating world wars within the span of 30 years.
020
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
The widespread horror and guilt felt by the general public once the Holocaust was reported on was a motivating factor for Western nations to finally lend material and military support to the Zionist movement, but that changes nothing about the goals of the movement or its allies.
130
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
And don't be fooled: the main reasons Zionism has received so much support in the West are that Western nations want a place to send Jewish people, and Palestine is in a strategically useful location near resource-rich MENA countries that are no longer under Western colonial control.
130
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
Ethno-nationalism is one of several types of nationalisms. There's also anti-colonial, civic, nativist, pro-colonial, etc. Zionism is and always has been an explicitly ethno- and pro-colonial nationalist movement. Its success at marketing itself to other countries doesn't change what it is.
160
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
What do people think "Zionism" means, exactly? It's the name for the ethno-nationalist political movement that began in the 19th century to create a Jewish state in Palestine. The movement was named "Zionism" by the people who started it.

So, this very sympathetic piece where the subject is “a lifelong Democrat who had voted for Trump for the first time in 2024”. 5 minutes of checking his facebook shows pro Trump posts as far back as 2019, and a post saying that he “stands with Trump” posted just a couple of days after Trumps coup.

The "clanker" thing began as a term for AI, and then AI bros tried to claim it's an actual slur because they believe AI is truly sentient. The term is dehumanizing when applied to humans. But an AI is not a human or a person, so it can't be dehumanized.

Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Yeah, but if someone called them "half robot," it wouldn't make the word "robot" pejorative when talking about an actual robot. The people saying that to disabled people are taking a word specifically meant to describe a non-human thing, and applying it to actual humans.

I grew this from a normal red-skinned grocery store potato. A few of them came out like this, and I don't know why. They should be clones of the mother plant since I grew them from tubers and not seed.

Anyway. I think we need to consider that a people with a widespread material culture who produced so many intricately made artifacts, may have been able to provide enough food for themselves that at least a few people in their society could be fat.
030
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
I am open to the theory that she's pregnant, but I'm not entirely convinced. I think she looks more fat than pregnant. She has fat folds around her knees, her belly looks soft and is hanging low, rather than a firm bump set higher in front of her (yes I know every pregnancy is different).
120
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
3. they had the same tendency as modern women to think of themselves as fatter than they are, and 4. that this tendency is either not rooted in shame around modern beauty standards, or that people 30,000ya had the same standards of feminine beauty that we do and used the same methods of enforcement.
120
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
I especially hate the "self portrait" theory, which rests on a lot of big assumptions. 1. people 30,000ya were as interested in the individual self as we are today, 2. the women didn't know what their bodies looked like and couldn't guess based on others'...
120
Idra Fallow @idrafallow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Not saying people looked like that all the time, or that she couldn't represent a bunch of other interesting symbolism. But considering how difficult it is to learn how to draw folds on fat bodies, it seems like a huge reach that the artist never saw one before carving such a realistic depiction.
