The BusConnects Dublin Road project in Galway has had planning permission for over a year. No mention of any funding to build it in #Budget2027 or the press releases. It would have greatly improved bus journey times and cycling safety in Galway. #speirgorm

Yup, from a cost of living perspective, absolutely, but what percentage of the almost disposable “stuff” bought was essential. There should be a conveyor belt from the port to the incinerator, to save time…🙃

We Irish buy more cheap (<€20) tech tat/crap than almost anyone else in Europe. And then we bin it within a month. (Says new EU wide survey) So is Temu (1m Irish customers) a cost of living godsend or a glut of disposable tech that fills up bins? www.independent.ie/business/iri...

Irish people second in EU for buying and dumping cheap tech trinkets as Temu’s ‘fast tech’ culture deepens
A new Europe-wide survey shows Ireland near the top of the table with 44pc of us buying and disregarding a cheap tech gadget within a month

As road deaths rise, the Government dropped planned reforms of the RSA and increased public transport fares — and now the minister seems to be disavowing political responsibility, writes Ciarán Cannon

Weird that 3 US companies -- Apple (€4.1bn), Microsoft (€5.6bn) and Eli Lilly (€5.7bn) -- now pay for people's heating oil, pension increases and tax cuts in this Budget. Near directly. They file windfall taxes = we hike social spending and cut our income tax. Utter, depressing dependence.
